Our History

The Art of Classical Ballet was founded in 2003 by Ballet Mistress, Choreographer, and Repetiteur Magaly Suárez. The school offers advanced training in classical ballet, with a particular focus on the Cuban classical ballet method.

Classes include ballet, pointe, pas de deux, variations, modern dance, and physical conditioning. With more than 30 years of international experience, Magaly Suárez leads a dedicated team of teachers who help serious students grow and excel in the art of ballet.

AoCB’s pre‑professional program gives dancers the opportunity to gain meaningful stage experience in collaboration with its affiliated professional company, Florida Classical Ballet.

The mission of the school is to develop each student into an artist who will contribute to the international world of dance.

The Cuban Method

The Art of Classical Ballet’s training is rooted in the Cuban classical ballet tradition. This approach combines clear classical technique with musicality, coordination, strength, and expressive artistry.

Dancers work daily in ballet, pointe, pas de deux, variations, repertory, modern, and conditioning, building a foundation that supports both technical precision and individual expression. The result is a disciplined, musical, and highly articulate style of dancing that prepares students for demanding stages.

Mission Alignment

The Art of Classical Ballet and North Broward Preparatory School are valued academic and program partners, helping families balance serious ballet training with world-leading academics.

Florida Classical Ballet is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting professional dancers and expanding access to high-level classical ballet performance opportunities. Through its collaboration with The Art of Classical Ballet, it helps provide professional artists with opportunities to train, perform, and continue developing their careers while bringing exceptional classical ballet to the community.

Both partnerships support AoCB’s mission while keeping the school’s training, dancers, and artistic standards at the center of the work.
